Girl’s Day Out (UCSD)

I (Jim Rohr at SSC Pacific aka SSC San Diego) have taken the liberty of inviting you and any middle school girl's that you know to an outreach event at UCSD (Jan10th) or at SDSU (Feb 21st)called Girl's Day Out. The event (10:30 - 1:30) starts with short talks by women STEM professionals from the community. Then there are short tours of the university as well as a bunch (8-12 depending on the number of volunteers we have) of table top demonstrations for the girls to engage in. We try to include university STEM students as well as women high school students interested in STEM careers so there is a continuum of role models for the middle school girls. If you are interested in bringing a middle school girl or participating or just coming out to check it out please RSVP with Ashley (see attached flyer).
