La Jolla High School Robotics team

The La Jolla High School Robotics team is preparing for the FIRST Robotics Competitions, which will be held in San Diego (March 5-7, 2009) and Las Vegas (March 25-27, 2009).  The team has received generous donations and grants from Qualcomm, ViaSat, AFCEA San Diego, and NYPRO but that was just enough to cover the registration fees and hardware cost associated with building the robot.  Thanks also to mentors from the Neurosciences Institute and UCSD, the team has successfully passed the first milestone of building in six (6) weeks a sophisticated robot that can be remotely operated to pick up balls and shoot them at enemy trailers.  For details, please go to website www.usfirst.org.  Unfortunately, they have almost run of funds and need to raise more funds to finish their project and travel to the Las Vegas regional.  We would appreciate it very much if you could put their need for funds on the NDIA STEM website and alert your member companies to see if someone can help out.  Any amount will be appreciated.  Best Regards,Yacine Dalichaouch, Ph.D.On behalf of the La Jolla High School Robotics TeamEmail: ydali2@earthlink.netTel: (858) 361-4156
